Kalispera (Good afternoon)!
Welcome to my blog ... the Greek edition. I will be spending a month in Greece through a school program called "Dialogue of Civilizations." Our group of 21 students and two professors will travel the entire country from July 5 to August 4, spending time in Athens, Thessaloniki, the Peleponnese and Mainland, and the islands. The program is geared toward the communications major, with a special emphasis on the politics of Northern Greece. We will complete four assignments, as well as attend tours and lectures, adding up to two course credits.
So my intention is to blog throughout our travels, but that all depends on the internet situation. It sounds like there will be access in the bigger cities, probably not on the islands. We will just have to wait and see!
I am uncharacteristically calm and have not yet started to pack, get necessary travel items, nor exhanged my money into euros. I am concerned over the packing though! The suitcase dimensions are 28 high x 18 wide x 12 deep. The suitcases I take everywhere are far over, so I have to use one of my mom's. It just keeps looking smaller and smaller. I have no idea how I'm going to fit everything...
